Writing A Blog Through The Perception Of A Beginner

I started to realise that there is a vast difference in writing for the flair of it and writing to gain profit, though both are to market my product. The difference between stories read by someone I knew and someone I do not know is a very crucial matter, for me as a beginner blog-writer or blogger. In order to market my blog, I need to understand who my audience is.

Those were the days, during my adolescent years, I will save my pocket money to buy little flowery notebooks to scribble my feelings and thoughts, posted pictures of my favourite celebrities from the magazines that I managed to remember such as “Tiger Beat, Seventeen, Teen Beats” or even “Donny and Marie” from their show “Donny and Marie Osmond Show” and shared with my friends to talk about and got crazy over them.

I remembered that we had brought our “scrapbooks” to school and were told to write essays about the scrapbooks. We learnt to give our opinions by writing down our favourite celebrities, their songs, their favourites and anything. Our resources were the printed materials of magazines, books, newspapers and comics to name a few in the spectrum of non-electronics tools or gadgets. Those were the things that my friends and I acquired unconsciously, the skill to write down essays after essays and lead to having flair in writings. These are bits of memories not only I cherished but practised with my students when I became a teacher. Though the methods are similar the outcome is not as what I expected due to the evolution of time perhaps.

I have been very complacent in my world of teaching children how to read, write and speak until one day I woke up and realized that I only preached but not practised all that I had been through. I then realized that the teaching and learning processes are two completely different worlds.

The role of a teacher in term of a career though, basically, you have to know the methodologically and pedagogically spectrum in order to have the teaching and learning process goes smoothly. I taught the children according to the most suitable method in order to have my objectives of teaching, achieved. I would be pleased and proud of my students could produce a good essay or an article in the school magazines or scored in the school’s examination or even the local state examination. Those are the scenarios that I thought I have accomplished based on my experiences and knowledge that I gained from being a teacher teaching languages. Therefore, after more than twenty decades involving myself in the world of teaching “how to write”, I challenged or rather braved myself to write trudgingly and grudgingly in a blog entering the digitalized world and I hope that it was not too late for my age factor.

The journey for me to join the matrix of the digital world began about a decade ago by creating a free blog web as to follow the trend of many. By following the instructions given, I managed at that time creating my own webpage with the theme that I wanted. I wrote in the blog to assess my own writings in order to have the experience how my writings looked like in the electronic printed page, thus, I am my own editor or rather in my own world of ruling my own kingdom.

There are no rules and regulations thus I have no intention to gain profits only to indulge myself in it. I wrote about my childhood days in a multi-context community in a new urban area or anything that a person would write in a diary. But of course, I do not receive any comments because the stories bored readers or unaware of the existence. Deep inside, I knew that actually, I was afraid to receive feedbacks, what more the name of my webpage was not catchy at all!. Even if I received comments, I would prefer it is from someone I knew and I felt happy to reply or personally replied to that person through private message in the channel of social networks.

I learned that the LinkedIn community is somewhat beyond boundaries which means “the borderless nation” does exist.

There is the “voiced and voiceless” audience who will and will not read my writings. In actual fact, these audiences are the one that will shape me up to be better or worst. They are the one that will unintentionally be the guidance or leading the way so that I will be on the correct path to a proper station or the best destination. The digital world actually consists of a multiplicity of multi-complex of anything and everything. I have to be really aware of the pattern and I hope that my simpleton will one day turns to be a sage.
