Why We Shouldn’t Settle On Cheaper Services

“Your price is too high.” “That’s too expensive!”

As customers, we often use these phrases to disagree on a seller’s price, especially if you find the product to be of poor quality or unsatisfactory. In opting for a service, we do not want to regret the choices we make. We want our choices to be the best: the best restaurant to eat, stable internet service for work, a dependable insurance company, and a reliable cash security service to take care of our money.

But in our hunt for the best, it is also undeniable that oftentimes, we look elsewhere for cheaper and more affordable options. This is common to businesses who want to cut down company costs, missing out on the fact that they are actually paying more in the long run.

Our Perception of Quality

According to Harvard Business School professor Gerald Zaltman, 95% of our purchasing decisions occur in the subconscious mind. This means that — though we may not notice it — buying is an emotional process that affects our general decision making. This is why marketers target our senses and we get attracted to the product’s logo design, size, colours, and packaging.

This is one of the main reasons why some products are more expensive than others. They invest in putting up so much effort in their product’s features and most importantly, its quality. Quality is a great factor in choosing a product. It is one of the main reasons why we buy the product again and why we’d recommend it to our friends despite the expensive price.

I had a related experience in 2014 when I preferred the cheap price over the quality of a product. I bought a $12 portable stove from a local mountaineering shop. It was cheaply packed with no logos, manual, or any text indicating its manufacturing information. The stove didn’t work well in cold or rainy weather and the fire it produced was intermittent, which was really inconvenient when cooking. One time, its flames suddenly blew bigger and wider, we got so scared that we might cause a forest fire. The fire went crazy until, eventually, it stopped working. I went to a more reliable camping shop and invested in a $75 camping stove. It’s been 5 years now and the stove never failed me once.

The average company will settle on making a mediocre product, but the innovative company will strive to create a tested product with strong materials that you can rely on despite any weather conditions and that will continue to work for years to come. This is what we are paying for and this is why some products are expensive. They are built on innovation and are designed to stand the test of time and nature.

Companies will be yammering about how good their product is and how they stand out from competitors, but it is by experience and our preference for quality that makes us choose an item.

Value, Features, and Benefits of a Service

If you own or manage a business, you are in charge of hiring the best cash security provider to collect your company’s daily takings and deposit it into the bank. But how can you be sure that the company you chose is the right choice?

If you want the best service, never settle for a security company who offers really cheap deals or you will end up getting what you paid for. You have to recognise first the value, features, and benefits of the service before you will understand why it’s more pricey than the others.

Average companies mainly focus on the features and attributes of their service, but a good company will focus on the benefits provided by the attributes of their product.

High-priced companies offer high-end services in return. They are more established and can offer their services nationwide. This means that they can pick up your money wherever you are and at any time of the day. They extend their services during weekends or on holidays.

Aside from the workforce, these companies invest in technology and innovation. And since the internet plays an integral part in the businesses today, they utilize “online services” for customers to track transactions online.

A cash-in-transit company like SecureCash offers online services to their clients where they can book extra pickups, submit change orders, verify a bank courier’s identification, and even cancel a scheduled pick up. This adds convenience for customers that other traditional and cheaper security companies cannot provide.

This type of innovation is a great benefit for you and your business. Being able to track your money and verify that it’s safely delivered will give you less worry and more focus at work.

Customer Service and Experience

According to a 2017 study fielded by American Express, 8 in 10 consumers said that businesses are meeting or exceeding their expectations for service. This means that more companies are realizing that delivering great customer care is vital in any business. The study also showed that 7 in 10 consumers spent more money on companies that deliver great service.

A great company is able to customize a service for you if an existing one doesn’t work. These companies have more time to listen to you and talk about what you want to do or change because they have the right amount of employees assigned to every task. This is their added feature, they do not simply collect and transport, but they make time to understand what you want.

As customers, we may not know the significant elements behind the marketing, sales, and branding of a product; but we surely recognise what excellent customer service is. Prominent companies don’t invest in their products alone but also in their well-vetted employees who are efficient in delivering the best customer after-care services and experience. Customer service isn’t just putting somebody to answer customer queries, they should be knowledgeable about the product, they should have initiative, and be delightfully pleasant to talk to over the phone,

through chat, emails, or in person. Most importantly, they are able to address your concerns in a timely manner. Customers hate waiting for a long time.

Transporting money is a risky job and all security personnel must undergo uncompromising training. Some cash-in-transit companies offer soft-skinned vehicle pick up, and their security officers are trained in tactically blending in with the crowd to avoid unwanted attention. Since it’s a dangerous job, they have to be efficient and able to do their job within a given deadline. They put so much money, time, and effort to provide these added services for the best interest of their clients.

If we think about it, the services are truly not that expensive as they can be cost-efficient and dependable for years to come, which we usually fail to see as consumers. Cheap services do not look after a customer’s needs as they focus more on money-making. They just make products and offer services that are low in quality; offer you no value for your money, no added features and benefits, and of course poor customer service.

As customers, we have the right to get the most reliable, efficient, and price-worthy services on the market. Say no to unreliable services. Don’t settle for cheap services, but be vigilant about over-priced services at the same time. In choosing a service, always do your research first: check the company reviews, ask around, verify if their services are legit, and check their website too. (A good website says so much about a company’s reputation.)

Great companies love to talk to customers, so do not hesitate in reaching out to them. If they can customize their services for you, address your concerns in a timely manner, go beyond the usual, and you are getting your money’s worth, then you are at the right place.

Choose a company who believes in what they sell, who listens to you, and who believes in your business. All prices may be too high, but you can’t put a price on trust and value.
