In a one of a kind partnership, Penguin Random House SEA collaborates with Southeast Asia’s largest parenting community and content platform, theAsianparent, for storytelling sessions for children and their guardians. This is the first time Penguin Random House SEA joins hands with the parenting community and will host sessions by its authors.

The campaign, titled ‘theAsianparentStorybook Time with Penguin SEA’, will run on Facebook and on theAsianparentapp, and millions of people following their pages and app will have access to these sessions. Penguin Random House SEA brings two of their bestselling books for children to this collaboration- Mina’s Magic Malong by Eva Wong and June Ho and Everyday Ninja by Leila Boukarim and Barbara Moxham. Both of these books are known for their entertaining yet thoughtful narrative that leaves behind a meaningful message for the budding bibliophiles. The storytelling sessions will be available every Saturday from June 24 onwards at 4 pm SGT.

Nora Nazerene Abu Bakar, associate publisher, Penguin Random House SEA says, ‘We have hosted authors on our social media platform before, but this would be the first time we collaborate with a focus community group and bring our books and authors to interact with young readers, parents, guardians and even teachers, all together. Both these books, Mina’s Magic Malong by Eva Wong and June Ho and Everyday Ninja by Leila Boukarim and Barbara Moxham successfully break stereotypes and impart life lessons for children and their parents. theAsianparent is a very sensitive, sensible and popular platform for people who would like to be constructively involved in their child’s upbringing. We are excited to be able to share our wonderful content with such a wide audience.’

“Storytelling is one of the best ways to engage children, cultivate the good habit of reading and pique their curiosity to learn more. This collaboration with Penguin Random House SEA is timely as many countries in Southeast Asia are still facing lockdown situations. In-line with our mission of helping parents raise happy, healthy and confident children, we hope that these interactive storytelling sessions will serve to help parents in nurturing their children through anecdotes,” said Roshni Mahtani Cheung, Founder & Group CEO of theAsianparent.
