This technique is especially true for sales professionals who are selling products that are not allowed to be advertised on FB (like PPEs, sex-related products, MLM Business opportunities) or a reseller and your supplier is not allowing you to use their brand, like when I was in network marketing. Or an agent and you’re not allowed to use the branding of your company, like in some insurance and real estate companies.
A number of years ago, I organized a get-together with some loved ones at a club. First time ko magpa-reserve ng sariling table. I did not know the proper etiquette. Enjoy lang kami, ganyan. But things got out of hand lalo na when the club became packed. Long story short, napalabas kami ng club.
Badtrip ako kasi i did not know what happened. Nageenjoy lang tapos biglang ay, eto, wala na. So apparently, we were expected to observe a certain etiquette sa club kahit na nagpa-reserve ako ng table. Akala ko kasi basta may table, VIP na. Akala ko na basta paying customer ako, I’d be ok.
For one kasi, ayaw ko ng masikip. So bad trip ako kasi feeling ko dapat VIP ako tapos ang sikip. Gusto ko chill lang. That night was not chill. Ang dami kong expectations that were not met. So the next times na gusto ko VIP treatment, maluwag and chill lang, nag House Party na lang ako. The people I invited to the club, i invited to my home na lang and we had a good time. Because the elements were within my control na 🙂
I hosted a house party.
If you’re having difficulties selling on Facebook especially if you are bound by certain rules and policies like FB ad policies and your company’s policies, then host your own house party. What do I mean? Let’s say I’m selling a fat-burning soap but I’m not allowed to sell it on Facebook because of FB policy and bawal daw sabi ng supplier. What I would do is to run ads to invite people into a webinar where I share “5 unconventional ways to lose weight”.
I would focus on the problem i help my target market solve, not the product. The webinar is your house party. Because when people enter your house party, there are no rules but your rules. So in that webinar, i share the 5 unconventional ways which may include:
- Mindful Eating.
- Standing Desks.
- Self Hypnosis.
- This Soap
Then I can start selling the soap. The house party can be a webinar, your e-mail list, an event or even a conversation over Messenger lang. If there are factors limiting you beyond your control, then make things within your control. Create a house party. Hope this helps
