As much as we want to subscribe to it, some relationships don’t exactly last forever.

No matter how much effort you put into them, some are bound to fail.

And when that happens, at times, we are all caught off guard.

After all, who wants to part ways with someone who used to be close to their hearts?

Whether a family member, friends or your special someone, it will always sting. Hard.

But then again, we can’t control everything.

Including, the feelings of others. Wow!

Kidding aside though, moving on and forward from a lost relationship is a matter of choice.

Allow me to share with you these 3 tips that will make it easier for you to recover from your lost relationships.

  1. Accept the situation.

Hard as it may seem, the first step to healing is embracing the space you’re in. Allow yourself to recognize the fact that it happened. Remember, you cannot resolve anything that you keep on denying to yourself.

  1. Acknowledge your feelings.

Take your time to feel. Whether it’s all about hurting, sadness, anger or whatever emotion you may have, allow yourself to acknowledge them and understand where they are coming from. Give yourself time and space to reflect because the least you need right now is a bunch of distractions that won’t really address the situation on hand.

  1. Ask yourself: What now?

Once you have taken your time to grieve and forgive yourself and others, allow yourself to start all over again, wherever you are, with whatever you have. Know that exactly where you are is where you’re meant to be. Sometimes you have to break in order for you to have a beautiful breakthrough. Think about what you can do at present and where you want to go there after.

  1. Choose your support circle.

More than ever, be mindful with whoever you surround yourself with. Keep people who genuinely care about you close. Not everyone has to play a part in your story. Choose those who were there all through out – those who never left your side through thick and thin. And yes, much like some relationships, fair-weathered people don’t last as well. And it’s ok.

  1. Create new memories.

Yep, starting all over again can be beautiful. Don’t let your past stop you from becoming the person you’re meant to be: your #bestmeever. Live life fully, one day at a time. Love yourself more. Be with those who make you feel worthy and loved. Do the things you’ve always wanted to do that you’ve never done before. You may have lost a relationship, but you still have your amazing self  (and those who truly love you) to enjoy the best things in life thereafter.

Looking forward to see you start all over again beautifully soon.
