Finsbury Glover Hering, the newly formed and leading global strategic communications advisory firm, today announced that it has hired China veteran Mei Zhang as a Managing Director in Hong Kong, strengthening its senior team at a time of exciting growth in Asia.
Finsbury Glover Hering has been expanding its operations in Asia and the company has made Greater China a priority market. This appointment comes after Finsbury Glover Hering earlier expanded its capabilities and teams in Beijing and Shanghai, with a view to further strengthening areas including corporate reputation management, government relations and public affairs capabilities.
Mei Zhang, Managing Director, Hong Kong. Mei Zhang joins the firm after a distinguished 25-year career providing professional counsel to international companies operating and investing in the region. Mei worked for eleven years at Goldman Sachs in Asia, as an Executive Director in Government Affairs, Corporate Communications and the China Liaison Group. Prior to that she was Vice President of Corporate Communications at Salomon Smith Barney, Citigroup. Mei Zhang started her career as a video journalist at CNN in Atlanta and recently was a columnist at Week in China and program director of Fortune global forums.
Other recent hires include Kevin Ma, Director, and Helen Tang, Associate Director, who are both based in Beijing. Kevin Ma brings with him deep experience of advising multinational organisations and Chinese companies on public policy communications and public affairs strategies in China, as well as financial communications across Mainland China and Hong Kong markets. Helen Tang is a former China Daily reporter and features writer who has an extensive media network across China.
