The iconic animated duo, Tom and Jerry, are preparing to take their age-old rivalry to Singapore in a first-ever localised series produced in Asia in collaboration with Warner Bros. Animation, as announced by Warner Bros. Discovery.
The new series will consist of seven episodes, each running for three minutes, and is set to premiere on Cartoon Network in the Asia Pacific and HBO GO in Southeast Asia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong later this year. An international roll out is planned, and fans can look forward to the pilot episode dropping in August.

“This series revives the beloved music and classic animation style of the Hanna-Barbera era from the 1950s, only now it features a contemporary Singaporean twist,” said Christopher Ho, head of kids, Southeast Asia at Warner Bros. Discovery. “Singapore’s distinctive landmarks and atmosphere make it the perfect setting for this hilarious addition to the Tom and Jerry franchise.”
Produced by Carlene Tan of Warner Bros. Discovery and led by Vivek Bolar, the series boasts animation by Aum Animation Studios India, and storylines and designs from Singapore-based Robot Playground Media and Chips and Toon Studios.
The launch of the series will be accompanied by the release of Tom and Jerry-branded consumer products later this year. “Tom and Jerry are two of our most universally adored characters, demonstrating that humor translates across all audiences,” commented Vishnu Athreya, senior vice president of series at Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios.
Warner Bros. Discovery has been expanding its footprint in Asia. They recently rebranded their children’s TV channel Boomerang to Cartoonito in Southeast Asia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, targeting a younger demographic, following positive feedback to the Cartoonito-branded block launched in 2022 on Boomerang and Cartoon Network.
Starting from 28 July, the channel will be available in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Thai, Bahasa Malaysia, and Bahasa Indonesia, aiming to offer a diverse slate of original series and modern preschool adaptations supporting child development, such as Batwheels and Bugs Bunny Builders.
