Bridgestone India has partnered with Tata Power to establish advanced electric vehicle (EV) chargers for four-wheelers across its extensive dealership network in India, a significant move to enhance the country’s EV infrastructure.
According to the details released, Tata Power will be installing advanced DC fast chargers with an impressive capacity of 25-30 kWh. These cutting-edge chargers are designed to fully charge a standard four-wheeler in just an hour, showcasing the potential to charge between 20 to 24 vehicles daily. This rapid charging capability is expected to address one of the primary concerns of potential EV buyers – the charging time.
Bridgestone India, in its official statement, emphasized that these chargers would operate 24/7, ensuring that EV owners have access to charging facilities at their convenience. Rajarshi Moitra, the Chief Commercial Officer of Bridgestone India, commented on the collaboration, stating, “At Bridgestone, we are deeply committed to enhancing mobility solutions for our customers. This joint venture with Tata Power is a testament to our dedication to providing top-notch services in the EV sector.”
The collaboration promises benefits not just for Bridgestone customers but for the entire EV community. Virendra Goyal, who heads Business Development for EV Charging at Tata Power, highlighted the company’s vision, saying, “Tata Power is at the forefront of the electric vehicle revolution. Our partnership with Bridgestone India underscores our unwavering dedication to fostering innovation and collaboration in the EV domain.”
In addition to the installation of these chargers, Tata Power will offer a comprehensive package of services. This includes charging assistance, routine maintenance support, and remote vehicle charging monitoring. To further enhance the user experience, e-payments and other functionalities will be integrated into the EZ Charge mobile application. Moreover, the Tata Power EV charging mobile app will serve as a guide for users, helping them locate charging stations, receive real-time charging updates, and facilitate seamless online payments.
As India gears up to embrace a sustainable future, collaborations like these between industry giants Bridgestone India and Tata Power are pivotal. They not only pave the way for a robust EV infrastructure but also signal a promising future for green mobility in the country.
