In 2019, Kohei Nishiwada and Yoshihiro Iwata started a company in Japan called Asuene that makes climate technology. Now that the company’s Series B financing round is over, it has raised a total of about $22.8 million. At the most recent close of the funding round, Sony Innovation Fund, GMO VenturePartners, Masayuki Mochida, and GLIN Impact Capital all took part by giving new shares to designated investors through a third party. Asuene provides corporate solutions for decarbonization and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management.

Asuzero’s cloud-based service makes carbon dioxide (CO2) management, reporting, and reduction easier. The company’s Asuzero service has accumulated over 2,500 customers and 70 partner businesses while expanding at an average rate of over 90% per month. Asuene will use the additional funding from the series B financing round to grow its staff, create new ventures, and support its international expansion. It wants to broaden the scope of its expert supply chain CO2 services for the manufacturing sector and related ones.
Asuene recently opened Asuzero Singapore as part of its plans to grow internationally. Masaaki Hamada, who used to run Meta, is now the country manager.
