KUALA LUMPUR, 6 November 2024 – In a landmark partnership that sets a new bar for eco-conscious logistics, Diolko, Malaysia’s pioneer in sustainable last-mile delivery, has teamed up with e-fulfillment leader iStore iSend. The collaboration marks a major step towards reducing the carbon footprint of last-mile deliveries, with expectations to slash CO2 emissions by as much as 80%.
Diolko’s innovative model leverages Rapid KL’s extensive Light Rail Transit (LRT) network to bring packages closer to customers. Through this efficient system, Diolko uses electric vehicles for final deliveries, helping to alleviate road congestion and fuel consumption—a significant green leap forward for Malaysia’s logistics industry.
A Greener Alternative for E-Fulfilment
During a recent pilot program, Diolko demonstrated its potential by reducing iStore iSend’s carbon emissions by 70%, with even greater reductions projected as the partnership broadens. “We are excited to partner with iStore iSend to offer a sustainable last mile delivery solution,” remarked Yoann Gueguen, CEO of Diolko. “By utilizing train networks and reducing traffic congestion, we are helping iStore iSend maintain its competitive edge while aligning with their sustainability goals. This partnership represents a major step forward for both companies in contributing to a greener logistics future.”
The eco-conscious approach doesn’t stop at transportation; Diolko employs a meticulous carbon tracking system that reports CO2 emissions per parcel. This feature empowers clients to monitor their environmental impact, aligning with the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting standards increasingly embraced by corporations.
Pioneering Eco-Friendly Innovations
Diolko’s approach integrates urban infrastructure in an unprecedented way, using the existing rail network to minimize the environmental impact of last-mile delivery. Parcels are transported closer to end customers via LRT, reducing the need for extensive road transportation. E-bike riders and e-van drivers then take over, completing deliveries within a 5-10km radius, which further curtails carbon emissions.
“iStore iSend is committed to reducing our environmental footprint,” said Joe Khoo, CEO of iStore iSend. “We have long sought a last-mile delivery partner capable of providing sustainable solutions. While we have implemented eco-friendly measures like sustainable packaging, the absence of a suitable last-mile partner has been a challenge—until now. Diolko fills this gap with its innovative delivery model, which leverages Malaysia’s train networks to optimize delivery efficiency and minimize environmental impact.”

Scaling Up for Sustainability
Currently handling around 6,000 parcels per month for iStore iSend, Diolko is positioned to scale up to 40,000 parcels monthly as demand grows. The potential to expand services beyond Klang Valley to other major cities in Malaysia and possibly throughout Southeast Asia illustrates Diolko’s vision of reshaping the industry towards a greener future. Plans are also underway to integrate other public transit systems, such as MRT, KTM, and KLIA Ekspres, broadening service coverage and reinforcing environmental commitments across the region.
