Tokyo, Japan – In a strategic move to strengthen its position in the dynamic telecommunications sector, Ericsson has announced Chafic Nassif as the new head of its market area in Northeast Asia and its new senior vice president.
Steering Ericsson’s Northeast Asia Operations
Nassif, stepping into this pivotal role, will be at the forefront of overseeing Ericsson’s operations and market strategies in Northeast Asia. This region, known for its rapid technological advancements and evolving telecommunications landscape, presents both challenges and opportunities that Nassif is well-equipped to navigate.
A Transition of Leadership
Nassif will be succeeding Chris Houghton, who was appointed as Ericsson’s chief operating officer in November 2023. Set to assume his new responsibilities on February 26, 2024, Nassif brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the market, having previously led Ericsson’s customer unit in Latin America North.
A Journey of Diverse Experience
Before his latest appointment, Nassif has held various executive and management roles within Ericsson, spanning different business segments and geographical regions. His experience includes leading Ericsson’s customer unit in Taiwan and engaging in tech start-ups and IT and business consulting in Europe, showcasing a diverse and rich career trajectory.
