Singapore, September 4, 2024 – Freshworks Inc. (NASDAQ: FRSH) has announced the appointment of Murali Swaminathan as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Swaminathan, an industry veteran with over 30 years of experience, will oversee Freshworks’ global engineering and architecture teams, steering the company’s technology roadmap and strategy.
As CTO, Swaminathan will play a crucial role in enhancing Freshworks’ customer and employee experience solutions, which continue to drive business value for mid-market and enterprise clients. He joins the executive leadership team and will report directly to Dennis Woodside, Freshworks’ Chief Executive Officer and President.
A Proven Leader in Technology
Swaminathan brings a wealth of knowledge from his previous role as Vice President of Engineering at ServiceNow, where he led the development of IT Service Management and Strategic Portfolio Management products. These flagship products have generated significant revenue and are widely adopted by large enterprises globally.

Before joining ServiceNow, Swaminathan held senior positions at Recommind (now OpenText) and CA Technologies (now part of Broadcom Inc.). He earned his master’s degree in Software Engineering Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Instrumentation from Annamalai University, India.
