GoTo Gojek Tokopedia, a renowned figure in the digital ecosystem, recently announced that the Group CEO and President Director, Andre Soelistyo, will transition into a commissioner role as Deputy Chairman. Patrick Walujo, a board member, has been proposed as the new President Director and Group CEO, subject to shareholder approval.
As a commissioner, Soelistyo will advise and supervise the strategic path of the company, keeping it on track to become adjusted EBITDA positive by the end of the year and fostering sustainable long-term growth.
Soelistyo has been instrumental in GoJek’s rise, leading the firm from its early stages to become Indonesia’s first homegrown unicorn. As co-CEO, he played a crucial role in the merger of GoJek and Tokopedia, which resulted in the creation of GoTo. Under his leadership, GoTo made history with its IPO on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2022. He also oversaw the Gotong Royong Share Program, enabling various stakeholders to benefit from the IPO.

Meanwhile, Walujo has a long-standing association with GoJek, being the first investor in the GoJek app, an innovation that significantly transformed the lives of millions of consumers, drivers, and merchants. With his deep understanding of the tech sector and commitment to Indonesia’s digital economy, Walujo’s leadership is expected to add substantial value to GoTo’s management team.
Assisting Walujo will be GoJek veteran Thomas Husted, nominated as Vice President Director, ready to take on the Chief Operating Officer’s role, subject to shareholder approval. Husted’s key contributions include building the internal infrastructure required for GoTo’s IPO.
The company also announced a further reshuffling of roles within the board of commissioners. Commissioner Agus D.W. Martowardojo is slated to become the President Commissioner, while current President Commissioner Garibaldi Thohir will transition to a commissioner role.
The leadership realignment was part of the agenda for GoTo’s upcoming annual and extraordinary general meetings of shareholders scheduled for June 30.
This news follows GoJek’s recent collaboration with ComfortDelGro to address key issues in the point-to-point transport industry, including driver shortage. The partnership aims to provide GoJek users with access to ComfortDelGro taxis via the GoJek app, with further areas of cooperation to be explored over the next two years.
