Gail Cruz Macapagal: Empowering Women in Blockchain and the Modern Meta Woman

We are at the precipice of huge changes as technology is once again reshaping both the economy and society. As enterprises invest in their innovation cycle, the people within these organizations are also in transition, as they move beyond the existing processes, that never-ending grind of designing the future structures of both business and the economy.
Gail Cruz Macapagal, the Country Director of DynaQuest Technology Services Inc. is at the forefront of this evolution. With a career spanning over two decades across various industries – from Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), banking and finance, technology and shared services, she is now fully immersed in Blockchain.

A self-professed learner, Ms. Cruz-Macapagal’s heightened interest in what was for her, a new and fascinating subject lead to her being a Certified Blockchain Expert. She still finds it surprising on how far she has reached deep into the industry of Blockchain. She proudly stated that “Blockchain technology was a foreign language when I was new to the concept, but through hard-work, further studies and successfully completing a Blockchain certification course, I was able to work on several Blockchain projects for the Company, attend and speak at numerous Blockchain conferences from 2018 up until today.”
Looking back, it is indeed such a remarkable achievement on what Gail has accomplished when she first started with Blockchain as she is now one of the most recognized and influential Filipino women professionals in Southeast Asia. Her journey has given her the chance to be at the vanguard of technology that many of us have the slightest inkling of and to which she is the answer to, having organized Bacolod’s first Blockchain workshop, leading the management thru various agritech projects, and being featured across the globe’s biggest Blockchain and Decentralized technology online/on-site forums. Gail is also a prominent keynote speaker in Technology, Blockchain and Women Empowerment Conferences, Expos and Seminars.
Gail believes that the best part of this new chapter in her career is how she helps put the spotlight on the Filipino women professionals, leaders and developers of Blockchain from 2018 until the present. Gail is the Founder of Women in Blockchain Philippines an organization that motivates, support, empowers and celebrates the most successful women in the Philippine Blockchain industry.
From shining a spotlight to the women of Blockchain and to trailblazing new opportunities for businesses and enterprises in the Decentralized Metaverse economy of the future, the “MetaWoman of Blockchain” that is Gail sees better and brighter opportunities for the Philippine economy as it recovers from the global pandemic.

Gail is part of the 100 Most Influential Filipino Women in LinkedIn for 2021 and 2022, she was also an awardee for the Philippine Empowered Men and Women of the year 2022. She was also given a recognition during the ALAB Awards for her valuable contribution to the fulfillment of the Initiatives of the DICT as Founder of Women in Blockchain Philippines. She is also IBAP-DICT Industry Ambassador. She is also a Brand Influencer for Great Image Photography and Sprout Solutions Brand Ambassador.
Gail also serves as Assistant Treasurer of the Healthcare Information Management Association of the Philippines (HIMAP), a Board of Trustee of the Blockchain Council of the Philippines and a Country Representative/Board member of Humanility Lighthouse Foundation. She spear-headed the Retro Glow Foam Party for a Cause; A fundraising event for the Humanility Education Program which raised Php 620,000 in cash as well as donating 15 fully equipped laptops for their Computer Learning Center. Her interest and involvement in Nonf-Fungible Tokens (NFT) has driven her to help launch the Humanility Empowered Children NFT’s for a cause which aims to raise funds for their education program. This project was instrumental for her in being Nominated and Winning the Wirex and Crytonomist’s Rising Women in Crypto 2022 Award. Out of 200+ nominees around the world she was one of the 13 winners and the only Filipina that won. She was also awarded Philippine Blockchain Champion, during the Philippine Blockchain Week. Gail is only part of Global Women Who Rule (GWWR), an organization of successful women leaders across the globe. She is also a published author and contributor of BitPinas and a book entitled Pinay Lady Boss: A conversation with Women who Rule the Money World.
Her profound dedication to spread her knowledge to help shape the future of the Country and around the globe through tech and Blockchain; an empowered and modern “Meta Woman of Blockchain” she may-be she is, to Orven his loving wife, and “mommy” to Orven Lorenzo (14yo), Oscar Ramon (12yo) and Orange Gail Patrice (11yo).
