Mark your calendars for 8-10 December 2023, as the Kuala Lumpur Art Book Fair (KLABF) is set to return with its third edition at the Kuala Lumpur & Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH). Making this year’s event even more noteworthy is the strategic partnership KLABF has formed with the boutique communication consultancy firm, RUBIX Communications, who will lead all communication and media relations for the three-day exhibition.
Revitalising the Art Book and Independent Creativity Communities
Every year, KLABF serves as a unique convergence point in Malaysia for art book enthusiasts and creators of independent art. This much-awaited annual event is a diverse showcase of self-published art books, literature, prints, and carefully curated collections from local and international exhibitors. Among the participants, we can find representatives from Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia. Since its inception in 2021, the fair has received an overwhelmingly positive reception, with 106 exhibitors and over 5,100 visitors gracing the event.
Promising a More Vibrant Celebration
This year, KLABF is making a comeback, fortified by an expanded team. The third edition promises an even more vibrant celebration of art books, zines, magazines, posters, photobooks, and printed matters. In addition, it will be hosting a variety of workshops, talks, and art shows. KLABF 2023 aims to attract a minimum of 5,000 visitors to partake in this enriching experience.
Shaping the Future of Art Publishing
KLABF Founder and Creative Director, Driv Loo, said, “We envision KLABF as a radiant guiding star that unites the artistic communities, educational institutions and public across Asia, fostering a dynamic and diverse culture of art publishing in Malaysia’s creative scene. To turn this vision into reality, we hope to garner support from brands and talented marketing professionals to help us to expand our reach and inspire a new generation of art enthusiasts.”
