In a move to champion youth technological advancement and drive the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) has joined forces with the Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC). Today, at the UPM-MTDC Technology Centre III, Serdang, these entities commemorated this collaboration by signing a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
From Vision to Reality
This isn’t the first collaborative initiative between KBS and MTDC. Earlier in March, at the Kuala Lumpur Industrial Training Institute, a Memorandum of Cooperation was inked for the Transformation Of Technical, Vocational Education (TVET) Programmes. This recent MoU signifies an expansion of that vision and reflects the shared commitment of both organizations to uplift the nation’s youth.
Shared Responsibilities & Aims
MTDC will fortify KBS’s vision by offering advisory services, support, and crucially, leading the introduction of the teaching factory for the TVET programmes targeting university students. These advisory services encapsulate various facets, from knowledge transfer, equipment upgrades, and professional training in tech-driven sectors to ensuring top-tier educational standards.
The implementation of the Teaching Factory signifies a broader ambition. It’s not just about the education but enhancing the infrastructural components like upgrading facilities and teaching equipment, ensuring an optimal learning ambiance for the scholars.

Hj Mohammad Hazani Hj Hassan, the dynamic CEO of MTDC, emphasized during the ceremony, “By working hand-in hand with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Institusi Latihan Kemahiran Belia dan Sukan (ILKBS), it gives us an opportunity to create a vibrant ecosystem that empowers the youth and accelerates technological advancements in Malaysia. Moreover, the alliance will fortify networking avenues between MTDC, its ecosystem companies, and ILKBS.
