Marina Bay Sands has announced the appointment of Jon Tjin Kee as its new vice president of destination marketing. Kee expressed his excitement about joining the ‘iconic brand’ in a LinkedIn post.
Kee brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Prior to this appointment, he worked at The Walt Disney Company from 2017 to 2023 as the director of central marketing solutions. There, he led four key corporate departments: partnerships, corporate brand and franchise marketing, central creative, and central digital.
Before his stint at The Walt Disney Company, Kee was an integral part of Facebook’s team, serving as the regional agency partner in the Southeast Asian region from 2014 to 2017. Kee was part of Facebook’s pioneering landing team, where he cultivated an agency strategic partnership that boosted year-on-year revenue.

At Facebook, Kee focused on establishing new relationships and managing existing partnerships with key media agencies. He demonstrated the value of Facebook products, developed thought leadership, and helped set up the Facebook Malaysia office, guiding its strategic, financial, and operating targets.
Before his work with Facebook, Kee spent time at Yahoo, where he took on the dual roles of country head for Malaysia and sales director for Singapore and Malaysia from 2011 to 2014. He was responsible for building strategic partnerships and representing Yahoo externally at industry events to ensure product relevance and thought leadership.
The appointment of Kee at Marina Bay Sands comes as hotels worldwide are stepping up their marketing efforts, especially in the post-pandemic era. For instance, luxury hotel chain Shangri-La recently launched a new global campaign, ‘Find Your Shangri-La,’ designed to help guests discover personal moments of joy within its properties.
With Jon Tjin Kee’s extensive experience in the marketing and tech industries, Marina Bay Sands looks poised to enhance its destination marketing strategy and create unforgettable experiences for its guests.
