Narmeen Khan has been appointed as the new Managing Director for Malaysia and Singapore by Mondelez International, the maker of iconic brands such as Cadbury Dairy Milk, Oreo, Jacobs, Chipsmore, and Twisties. Narmeen is in charge of the company’s overall growth and operational efficiency in both markets. She will be situated in Kuala Lumpur and will work alongside a passionate team of experts who are dedicated to leading the future of snacking by providing the appropriate snack, at the right time, and prepared in the right way for people and the world. Her appointment reflects the company’s talent diversity culture as well as its capacity to create leaders from within.
Narmeen has worked for Mondelez International for 17 years, holding various senior category and leadership positions in Pakistan and Dubai. She was previously the Managing Director of Mondelez Pakistan, where she was responsible for restructuring the Pakistan business and remarkable growth over the last three years. She was also vital in the establishment of the chocolate category in Pakistan, eventually pushing Cadbury Dairy Milk to market leader status in the country.
“Mondelēz has established a strong foundation in both markets as a category leader, an employer of choice, as well as an important contributor to our global innovation and supply chain. I am delighted to have an opportunity to build on these fundamentals while bringing new perspectives to accelerate our growth and extend meaningful progress in line with our environmental, social and governance responsibilities,” said Narmeen.
Narmeen’s appointment aligns with the company’s efforts to improve its sustainability. Mondelez is a founding member of the Malaysian Recycling Alliance (MAREA), a dynamic industry cooperation aimed at improving post-consumer plastic packaging collection, separation, and recycling. As part of its commitment to deliver enhanced outcomes as a sustainable snacking company, Mondelez expects to make additional strategic investments and increase partnership with the government, industry, and society.
