Memo Hayek has been named Nine’s new Chief Information and Technology Officer (CITO), effective March 27. Nine is one of Australia’s top media businesses. Hayek will serve as the Chief Digital Officer’s direct report in her new position, and she will be a member of both the executive leadership and digital leadership teams.
Responsibilities of the Role
Hayek will oversee Nine’s technology vision, strategy, planning, and implementation. She will collaborate closely with Nine’s Chief Product Officer, Bec Haagsma, to develop commercial goods and consumer experiences that will give Nine a competitive edge.
Hayek’s extensive industry experience
Hayek has more than 30 years of expertise in the field, most recently working at Commonwealth Bank as the general manager of group cyber transformation and delivery. Hayek spent the first ten years of her career in technical roles in a challenging trading environment. She started her career as a systems programmer at Macquarie Bank. She then had a number of technology leadership positions with companies like CBA, NAB, Westpac, and Credit Suisse, where she oversaw all facets of technology, including infrastructure, data centres, cyber, and divisional CIO. On Hayek’s appointment, Chief Digital Officer Alex Parsons stated: “Memo is an exceptional technology leader with a proven track record in driving digital transformation and innovation in large organisations.”
