In a move that has the tech world buzzing, OnePlus is set to unveil the much-anticipated OnePlus 12 in China on December 5, a day ahead of its initial schedule. This launch marks a significant step for OnePlus, as it readies to succeed its current flagship, the OnePlus 11 5G, launched earlier in February this year.
Accidental Leak Sparks Global Launch Speculation
In a recent development, official OnePlus sites in the UK, the US, and India have listed the OnePlus 12, stirring speculation about its global and India launch. The listings, while not confirming a launch date, have intriguingly promoted a lottery to win the upcoming flagship phone. Participants subscribing to the product launch updates are automatically enrolled in a lucky draw.

The terms and conditions of the contest, particularly on the UK site, have inadvertently given away key dates, suggesting a contest window running from November 27 to January 23. The Indian site, now reflecting dates from November 27, 2023, to 2024, further fuels speculation of an accidental leak of the launch date. This leads to a strong assumption that the global and India launch could align on January 24, 2024.
A Glimpse into the Design and Color Options
Ahead of its China debut, OnePlus has revealed the OnePlus 12’s design, which echoes the design language of its predecessor, the OnePlus 11. The phone features a prominent circular camera module with the Hasselblad logo, positioned at the top left corner of the back panel. Its aesthetic is further enhanced by curved edges, slim bezels, and a centre-aligned hole-punch cutout for the front camera. The device has been teased in three color options: Pale Green, Rock Black, and White.
Powerful Specs Under the Hood
The OnePlus 12 is confirmed to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, positioning it at the forefront of smartphone technology. It will sport a Sony LYTIA LYT808 primary rear camera sensor, complemented by a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. The phone will run on Android 14 with ColorOS 14, featuring a ProXDR display with 2K resolution, a peak brightness of 2,600 nits, and earning DisplayMate’s coveted A+ certification.
