In a move that transcends the boundaries of sports and taps into the aspirations of young Australians, Optus, the Official Supporter and Optus Sport, the Official Broadcaster of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ in Australia, have launched the Inspiration Grants Program. The initiative has already garnered an overwhelming 13,192 applications from across the nation, showcasing a plethora of passions and ambitions.
The Matildas: The Spark Behind the Program
The program draws its inspiration from the indomitable spirit of the Matildas, Australia’s national women’s soccer team. Targeting the age group of 13-19 years, the program offers 64 grants, each valued at $3,000. The aim is to fuel the dreams of young Australians, whether they are budding athletes, aspiring scientists, or community activists. The response has been particularly strong from the sporting community, featuring applicants who dream of becoming Olympians, Paralympians, and World Champions.

The Inspiration Grants Program is not just for athletes. Celebrity Endorsements: TikTok Creators Join the Movement
To further amplify the program’s reach, Optus enlisted the help of 64 content creators from various fields. These include comedians, sports stars, florists, stunt performers, teachers, and even Formula 1 drivers. Notable TikTok creators like Scotty James, Ben Stubbs, Jenna with the Pink, and Emily Grosser have joined the campaign, sharing invaluable life lessons they wish they had known at a younger age.
