Singapore – Revolut, the global fintech with more than 50 million customers worldwide, has just launched five additional currency wallets that users can exchange and hold in-app — Chinese yuan (CNY), Vietnamese dong (VND), Moroccan dirham (MAD), Icelandic króna (ISK), and Serbian dinar (RSD). With this addition, users can now hold and exchange 39 different currencies directly in-app.
Revolut users can easily exchange these currencies in-app when the rates are favorable and hold them in their dedicated currency account for use when needed for their next getaway, helping them get the most value from their money. Users can enjoy further savings by setting stop and limit orders for automatic exchanges, removing the need for manual monitoring. In addition to these, Revolut supports spending in over 200 countries worldwide without any foreign exchange fees.
Ashley Thomas, Head of Strategy & Operations at Revolut Singapore said, “Our users are at the core of everything we do. Insights from user spending patterns and their most visited destinations directly shape our currency wallet roadmap. The addition of CNY and VND is especially timely, as we’ve observed notable fluctuations in SGD-CNY and SGD-VND rates recently.”
With these additions, Revolut now offers currency wallets for all high-demand Asian currencies, including the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR), Thai Baht (THB), Philippine Peso (PHP), Korean Won (KRW), Japanese Yen (JPY), Indian Rupee (INR) and Hong Kong Dollar (HKD) among others.
Thomas added, “With Revolut, users can be assured they’re getting the best value for their money. We prioritise fee transparency — there are no hidden costs, and fees are always clearly shown before you exchange or send. You can budget with confidence, transfer to bank accounts, mobile wallets or cards, and send money for free to other Revolut users globally — all directly from your currency wallet.”
In addition to competitive exchange rates, Revolut offers its users a variety of tools to make their travel experience secure, seamless and stress-free.
- Budgeting tools – Revolut offers several budgeting tools that can help you keep track of your spending. You can set spending limits, receive notifications when you’re close to your budget, and track your spending by category.
- Splitting bills – With Revolut’s Group Bills feature, you’re able to keep track of group expenses (even if they’re paid across multiple different currencies) and either instantly settle them directly within the app, or at the end of a trip.
- Fee-free ATM withdrawals – In certain destinations, cash is still king. Regardless, Revolut users do not need to carry large chunks of cash. Revolut allows users to withdraw up to S$350 cash or up to 5 withdrawals each month without incurring any fees. By not needing to carry large chunks of cash, users also do not need to worry about pickpockets or snatch thefts.
- Security controls – In case of a misplaced card or any suspicious transactions, Revolut users can instantly freeze their card in-app. Revolut also offers a unique feature called single-use virtual disposable cards which can be used at physical stores as well as online. Once paid, the details are deleted so they can’t be skimmed or re-used by criminals. Users can generate up to 5 single-use cards a day.
Revolut users can link their cards to Apple Pay and Google Pay to enjoy seamless, contactless payments around the world — making every trip smarter, safer, and more convenient. Whether it’s stretching your dollar, managing group expenses, or staying secure on the go, Revolut is designed to be the perfect travel companion.
