Celebrating 10 Years of Media Excellence
The Singapore Media Festival (SMF), returning for its 10th edition from November 30th to December 10th, 2023, is set to dazzle with its impressive array of programs. This year’s lineup includes the Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF), Asia TV Forum & Market (ATF), Singapore Comic Con (SGCC), and the inaugural Nas Summit Asia. Organized by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), the festival is poised to attract over 50,000 media professionals, leaders, content creators, and enthusiasts from Asia and beyond, fostering an environment where new dreams, content, and connections come to life.
A Hub for Media Innovation and Collaboration
Under the banner “Make It Here,” SMF 2023 focuses on uniting media entrepreneurs, talents, creators, and consumers from the region. The festival has been a pivotal event in Asia’s media landscape since 2014, drawing over 274,000 participants from 60 countries. A staggering S$3.04 billion (US$2.23 billion) in deals and partnerships have originated from this festival, highlighting its role in fostering significant media projects like the Hollywood hit “Crazy Rich Asians.” Special emphasis is placed on nurturing talent and creating new content, with initiatives like SGIFF’s Film Academy, SGCC’s W.I.P. programme, ATF’s In-Development lab, and IMDA’s Virtual Production Fund and Singapore Film Commission grants.
The Singapore Media Festival has proudly spent a decade celebrating, discovering and nurturing the best of Asia’s media industry, and we will not stop here. The media industry landscape today is shaped by new trends and technologies like virtual production and AI that present exciting creative opportunities. To capitalise on this, the festival’s role as the place where new dreams, content and connections are made becomes ever more crucial as we collaborate with the best of talent in Asia and around the globe to create stories for the world.
