Singaporean Parliament Member (MP) Tin Pei Ling has bid farewell to Grab, leaving her position as its director of corporate development. After a short but enriching seven-month stint, she is excited about her new career path and taking on an external-facing role in the tech sector.
During her time at Grab, Pei Ling had the privilege to meet talented individuals and be part of meaningful projects. Reflecting on these experiences, she expressed gratitude, saying, “These are memories that I will continue to hold dear and be thankful for.”
Although she has not disclosed the name of her next destination, Pei Ling hinted at a leadership position in a fintech company. In this new role, she will focus on strategic partnerships, business development, and supporting the company’s innovation and expansion into key Asia-Pacific markets.
Pei Ling’s time at Grab has not just been about work; she has also been thankful for the opportunity to contribute to Grab’s social mission in Southeast Asia. She admired Grab’s dedication to creating economic empowerment in the region, viewing her experience with the company as invaluable in broadening her horizons and honing new skills.
Before her corporate stint, Tin Pei Ling was first elected as an MP for the Marine Parade GRC in 2011. She was subsequently re-elected in 2015 and 2020 for the MacPherson SMC. Currently, she also serves as Chair of the Government Parliamentary Committee for Communications and Information in Singapore’s 14th Parliament.
Her departure from Grab marks an end to one chapter and the beginning of a promising new adventure in the fast-growing fintech sector. It will be intriguing to see where her new journey takes her and what contributions she will make in her new role.
