The Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA), the world’s largest professional PR body, announced the launch of its Nextgen Group, to support those just starting out or those that have been practicing for years, by equipping practitioners with all the tools they need to progress their career. The group has appointed Sugandha (Suhani) Bhandari from Midas PR (Bangkok) as NextGen group vice-chair and Alicia Thong as the Chair. Together, the duo will drive events and initiatives to support the next generation of public relations and communications leaders.
As a Strategic Communications Officer, Suhani introduced a 24/7 crisis consulting service pack for Midas’s clients, which made the company the only PR agency in Thailand offering 24/7 support. A natural team leader, she has handled crisis communications for brands like foodpanda, Cigna, and one of Thailand’s biggest restaurant chains.
“I’d like to congratulate Alicia and Suhani, and welcome them to the PRCA Southeast Asia team. Providing support and encouragement to the next generation of talent is one of the PRCA’s most important tasks. We want to develop a stronger, more effective industry by helping people in the early and mid-stages of their careers become better practitioners, and equip them to be our sector’s future leaders. Alicia and Suhani will work with the wider team, leading our Nextgen initiative along with the newly-formed Nextgen Group, providing guidance, inspiration and practical help to the best and brightest we have today, aiding them to become what the Comms industry needs tomorrow.” said Lee Nugent CMPRCA, Chair, PRCA Southeast Asia.
“South-East Asia is an untapped bucket of young PR-talents with diverse backgrounds. In the coming years, these professionals will become the leading experts who will transform the industry and take it to the next level. I am excited to be on board of PRCA NextGen and to be part of this disruptive transition. I’m looking forward to contributing my efforts and expertise to the group, and at the same time to learning from others. My goal will be to make this group a strong pillar which young PR-practitioners can rely on. I hope PRCA NextGen will continue to be a helpful source of professional advice for anyone who needs support in dealing with the challenging world of PR.” said Sugandha (Suhani) Bhandari , PRCA NextGen Vice Chair and Strategic Communications Officer at Midas PR.
“I am delighted to see Suhani in this role and expect to witness many great things that the group will accomplish. It is remarkable to see that the new generation of PR professionals are taking such a keen interest in supporting and coaching the leaders of tomorrow.” said Karin Lohitnavy, Founder and Master Connector at Midas PR.
