Kuala Lumpur, 18 June 2024 – Sun Life Malaysia, a leading provider of insurance and takaful services, is bringing its InsureLit Roadshow to Penang, aimed at boosting Malaysians’ knowledge and confidence in insurance and takaful. This event, running from June 19 to 23 at Queensbay Mall, is part of a nationwide initiative to promote financial literacy and foster positive financial behaviors.
Following its successful debut in Johor Bahru in May, the InsureLit Roadshow will travel to three additional key locations: Putrajaya (31 July – 4 August) and Selangor (18 – 22 September). Sun Life Malaysia is inviting all Penangites to join this educational journey and equip themselves with essential financial knowledge.
Visitors can look forward to a range of interactive activities, such as the “InsureLit: Earn, Save, and Protect” board game, which simulates real-life financial scenarios and decision-making. The “Insure Hoops” Challenge and the “Ready, Set, Maze” Challenge are designed to help participants reassess their insurance and takaful coverage, set financial goals, and take control of their financial futures.
Complementing these activities, Sun Life Malaysia will offer complimentary financial planning consultations from experienced advisors, tailored to individual life goals. In Johor Bahru, a poll revealed that 60% of attendees prioritized health as their top financial goal, followed by protection (30%) and savings (10%).

Adding a fun twist, the roadshow includes fringe activities such as the “Big Yellow Heart” photo challenge in celebration of International Selfie Day on June 22. Participants can also enjoy free health checks, including comprehensive eye health screenings in collaboration with MOG Malaysia.
Sun Life Malaysia’s commitment to enhancing financial literacy stems from their recent survey, “Insure or Unsure: Sun Life Insurance Literacy Survey,” which found that only 28% of Malaysians feel confident in their knowledge of insurance and takaful products. Their inaugural “Asia Financial Resilience Index – Malaysia” further highlights the need for improved financial planning, with only 22% of respondents planning beyond a five-year horizon.
Join Sun Life Malaysia at Queensbay Mall, Central Atrium, Penang, and take the first step towards a financially secure and literate future.
