Seamus Higgins has returned to R/GA, assuming the role of Australian Chief Creative Officer. Following his recent stint in London, Higgins returns to the agency he left last year after serving three years as APAC Chief Creative Officer. He will be joining forces with Ben Miles, who is set to continue leading R/GA’s brand design and consulting practice across APAC.
In the previous year, R/GA underwent a restructuring of its APAC presence, dividing it into two segments – Asia (encompassing Indonesia, China, Singapore, and Tokyo), and Australia (Sydney and Melbourne). The return of Higgins comes amid this strategic reshuffling, and his reunion with the company demonstrates a clear intention to bolster its creative prowess in the Australian market.

Michael Titshall, the Australian CEO of R/GA, heaped praise on Seamus Higgins, stating, “He is a rare creative leader who embraces diverse perspectives and capabilities, which results in consistently innovative work.” Titshall further lauded Higgins as a person who lives R/GA’s values every day, making him the ideal Chief Creative Officer as the agency seeks to further intersect its practices across brand, communications, and experience.
Seizing this opportunity to rejoin R/GA, Higgins expressed his eagerness about his return to Australia and reconnecting with the “brilliant team” at R/GA. His focus will be on the upcoming era of growth opportunities. “Brilliant, impactful work is all about collaboration,” said Higgins. He also expressed his anticipation to once again work creatively with Ben Miles, whom he described as an “incredibly talented leader and inspirational human.”
Meanwhile, the agency bids farewell to Claire Waring, its Executive Creative Director. Waring departs to pursue an opportunity at the tech start-up, Mental Load, which she co-founded with her sister, Elly Bartens. The start-up aims to alleviate the mental load for parents. Titshall commended her on her contribution to R/GA, stating that she has left an indelible mark on the agency with her creative leadership.
