Union Minister Piyush Goyal recently unveiled the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) during a virtual conference at the ONDC Elevate programme in Bengaluru. With a vision to decentralize India’s bustling e-commerce industry, the minister views ONDC as a transformative force.
As the head of several ministries, including commerce and industry, consumer affairs, food and public distribution, and textiles, Goyal reflected on the rapid growth of the network as a major positive outcome. Emphasizing the ONDC’s democratizing impact on digital commerce, Goyal engaged with the network’s contributors, urging them to further their efforts towards a more inclusive e-commerce landscape.
ONDC Elevate celebrated the completion of ONDC’s inaugural year, enabling participants and ecosystem stakeholders to foster a cooperative atmosphere. The gathering acted as an open forum to discuss past achievements and strategize the future direction of ONDC.
