In a progressive move that acknowledges the importance of family planning, Trip.com Group is delighted to announce a generous childcare subsidy for its worldwide employees. Specifically, employees in Malaysia who have been with the company for three years or more will be eligible for an annual cash bonus of RMB 10,000 for each newborn child. This bonus will be awarded annually from the child’s first birthday until they reach five years of age.
To fulfil this endeavour, the company has earmarked an investment of RMB 1 billion in subsidies to back its employees in family planning and support working families.
Ensuring Work-Life Balance
James Liang, Executive Chairman of the Board at Trip.com Group, said: “Employees are our greatest asset to the company and we are committed to creating a better and more supportive working environment for them. Through the introduction of this new childcare benefit, we aim to provide financial support that will encourage our employees to start or grow their families without compromising on their professional goals and achievements.”
Creating an inclusive and supportive workplace has always been a priority for Trip.com Group. The newly announced childcare subsidy further solidifies their commitment to helping employees balance their professional and personal lives.
Empowering Working Mothers
In addition to the subsidy, Trip.com Group has shown its commitment to working mothers and pregnant employees by implementing pro-family policies such as a hybrid work scheme and assisted reproduction benefits.
Mr. Liang, as a demographic economist, believes family welfare policies, including inclusive childcare services, equal maternity leave for both genders, rights protection for single-parent families, and access to assisted reproductive technologies, can help working women reduce the time and opportunity costs of parenting. This balance can create a win-win situation for both family and career.

Advancing Employee Happiness
To further enhance employee happiness and satisfaction, Trip.com Group offers a hybrid working scheme. This innovative scheme allows employees in various markets to choose remote work on certain days of the week. First introduced in mainland China, the policy has been adopted by Trip.com Group in 14 regions and countries, including Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, and Australia.
