With the recruitment of Chan Woei Hern as its new head of creative, VaynerMedia, the international creative and media firm, has made significant progress in its expansion in the Asia Pacific area. Chan has accepted his new post with immediate effect and brings with him a plethora of expertise and abilities from his more than 20 years in the advertising profession. Chan will work under Tim Lindley, managing director of APAC, VaynerMedia, and he will develop the agency’s reputation as a consumer-focused, integrated company.
Experienced and Skilled Industry Pioneer
Chan is an industry pioneer with broad customer experience and a fervent advocate for charitable causes. He has established and managed creative teams in some of the top advertising agencies, such Naga DDB, Dentsu, and collective IPG Mediabrands, over the course of his career. Among the many companies he has worked with are Grab, Nippon Paint, Maxis Communications, Petronas, and Munchy’s.
At VMLY&R Commerce, where he worked as the executive creative director for Malaysia and Southeast Asia before joining VaynerMedia, Chan was in charge of integrating and increasing growth in the creative commerce sectors. Additionally, he has worked as a creative consultant with Cancer Research Malaysia as a mentor at Malaysia’s Global Innovation Centre’s accelerator programme for social entrepreneurs.
