Wunderman Thompson of WPP makes significant hires in the content and technology sectors. As part of its aim to enhance the agency’s technological competence throughout the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, Wunderman Thompson, a member of the WPP network of organisations, has announced three important appointments to its regional leadership team.
Chief Technology Officer – Hasan Hasnie
Hasan Hasnie has been appointed as Chief Technology Officer, and will work closely with clients as a strategic partner, helping to enable growth in their organization, while also deepening the agency’s current technology capability set.
Hasnie joins the company from Accenture, where he spent nearly 19 years in digital and technology consulting. Most recently, he served as managing director at Accenture Song, where he oversaw the architecture and delivery of complex digital platforms for clients all over the world, including a number of significant transformation programs.
Hasnie made a statement regarding his appointment, saying that he was thrilled to join Wunderman Thompson at this point in their growth journey and that he hoped to use his experience with the delivery of marketing and commerce technology in a scaled and distributed fashion to further improve the agency’s services.
Head of Technology – Geoff Smeaton
Geoff Smeaton, currently the Chief Technology Officer for Wunderman Thompson Australia, will step into an expanded role as Head of Technology for the APAC region, with a focus on delivery.
Smeaton has more than 20 years of experience working in the IT business across a variety of industries, including more than 14 years in the eCommerce industry. He provides technical and architectural leadership on challenging projects of diverse sizes and levels of complexity.
Smeaton expressed his excitement for the opportunity to help Wunderman Thompson deliver world-class technology solutions for clients across APAC, alongside the agency’s team of leaders and practitioners.
Head of Content – Nicholas Yeam
Nicholas Yeam has joined Wunderman Thompson as the Head of Content for APAC, with the responsibility of leading and growing Wunderman Thompson Studios in the region.
Yeam has worked as an executive producer at Huge, Media.Monks, and Hogarth Worldwide over her nearly 10 years in the field of digital and multimedia development.
Nicholas will continue to drive growth for Studios in his role as content lead for APAC by providing customers with effective and high-quality content solutions and operations, bridging the gap between brand inspiration and execution. Yeam sees his appointment as an opportunity to lead Wunderman Thompson in a period of transformation in the content landscape, as there is an ever-growing demand for scale, efficiency, and quality.
Investing in technology capability across the Asia Pacific region
According to the release, Wunderman Thompson Technology currently comprises 530 engineers, 90 UX/UI designers, 40 data specialists, and 30 consultants in the Asia Pacific region, contributing to the 500 platforms the agency has built for brands globally, generating $29 billion in revenue for clients.
